Established in Woman's Prison

Bedford Hills Correctional Facility

On the 16th of November 2006, The Church of Haile Selassie I,
has for the first time, initiated (baptized) three (3) female
prisoners in the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility.

The initiation of the three female prisoners fulfills James 1 v 18
“...first fruit of His creatures.”

This completes a 360 degree revolution in the Church's evolution
within the prison system.

This historic event took place in the prisons chapel. Chaplain
Abuna Foxe, Chaplain Raymond Tenia, Chaplain Ralph E.
Severine, and Chaplain Devon Tibby performed the ritual and
rites of the initiation.
